Want to open a checking or savings account? Get
Checking is designed for people who currently do not have an account with a
financial institution.
Maybe you have never had an account and don't
know how to start. Maybe you have had problems with an account in the past that
and now you can’t open a new account because of those
problems.

Will I be able to open an account after the
class?Once you have completed the Get Checking classes, you will receive a
certificate. To open your account, take your certificate and all proper
identification, to one of the following participating financial institutions:
- Regions Bank
- John Deere Community Credit Union
- US Bank
- Wells Fargo Bank

HOW DO I REGISTER?Call the CCCS office at
(319) 234-0661 and ask that a brochure be mailed to you. Select one of the
scheduled classes, complete the registration form and mail it with payment to
the CCCS office.
Classes last three hours and cover topics such as: understanding
ChexSystems, choosing an account that is right for you, managing
your checking account, and keys to successful money management
and credit. The cost is $25.00 per individual or $35 per couple.
Scholarships are available from CCCS on a first-come first-serve
basis.
GET
CHECKING is a national program developed by the University of
Wisconsin-Extension in partnership with eFunds Corporation. CCCS is a licensed,
authorized educator for the Get Checking program in Iowa.
